Day 01: ARRIVE IN HUE - STREET FOOD BY CYCLO (-/-/D):

- 17h00: A tour guide and cyclo will pick you up at your hotel in Hue and depart to explore Hue cuisine by cyclo. 

- Starting the tour we will drive straight into Com Hen local restaurant.  Cơm hến is a dish of rice with stir-fried clam or mussels with special local veggies. This dish is trendy and easy to find in many places in this city. The main ingredients of the mussel rice are mussel or clam and rice, but the additives are quite a lot like fried pork skin, fish sauce, raw vegetables, banana flowers, bean sprouts, chopped taro sticks, roasted peanuts, etc. All items mix together to create a very typical taste. Our tour guide will tell you the old story of how this local dish is made and introduce you how to enjoy the dish as a Hue local

- Continuing by cyclo to another street, here you will enjoy Hue’s special cakes such as “Bánh bèo, bánh nậm, bánh ram ít”…that are made with rice flour.

+ Bánh Bèo: These petite rice cakes are only the size of a silver dollar, but you’re guaranteed to want (at least) half a dozen once you taste them. Each bite is steamed in a small ceramic saucer and then topped with a sprinkle of dried shrimp, pork crackling, shallots, and scallion oil.

+ Bánh Nậm: One of Huế’s most tempting steamed dumplings covered by banana leaves. The steamed banana leaves will secrete the oil which causes the special umami natural flavor that makes your mouth watering. Bánh Nậm will win you over with its dainty texture and delicious taste.

+ Bánh Ram Ít: Huế is one of the few places where you can encounter this delightful dumpling. A fried sticky rice cake and a soft, steamed rice cake are layered on each other into a small mound.

- Wandering on Le Loi Street along Huong River we will continue to Ha Noi Street to taste “Bún Bò Huế” a must-tried dish. This typical flavor of Bun Bo Hue makes it different from other food. Its taste comes from various spices and special ingredients, such as lemongrass, chili, pepper, garlic, onion, fish sauce, Hue crab sausage, and lots of beef, pork, and bones simmering for at least 5 hours before serving. And most importantly, the fresh vegetables served when tasting it. This dish of Hue is compared with Phở of Vietnam in the best rate of Vietnam cuisine.

- After that, you will pass over Truong Tien Bridge, coming to enjoy Banh Khoai – Hue Pancake. It is a very famous pancake in this city. Eating Banh Khoai and drinking beer is not just about the food, it’s also a cultural experience, with the sizzling noise, busy movements between pans, and irresistible aroma.

- Then, enjoying sweet soup in Hue which was known as the home of various kinds of sweet soup. There are more than 36 kinds of sweet soup in Hue. There are two main types of Che Hue – Che cung dinh (Royal Sweet Soup) and Che hem (Street Sweet Soup). Each type has specific types of ingredients.

- Last stop we will be trying the unique Banh mi by the historic Truong Tien bridge. This place is a Hue institution serving banh mi into the night. It’s only open in the evenings. 

- 21h00: Ending tour cyclo, we take you back to the hotel. Thank you and see you next time.
